Bianca Bowen was raised in a small suburb south of Boston where she has been a part of the dance world for over 20+ years. She has experience as a student, a teacher and choreographer, and has professional performing credits. As a student dancer, Bianca trained under the direction of Melissa Tarzopoulos, Lisa Bowen, Katie Rondeau, Jill Silverman, Joan Palladino, Kelly Peters, Jean Wenzel, and Jeremy-Ruth Revilock-Frost. Bianca has experience in ballet, pointe, lyrical, modern, contemporary, creative movement, hip hop, jazz, tap, and musical theatre dance as well as singing and acting.
Bianca began dancing at 2 years old when her parents signed her up for a class unaware it would turn into a passion. During her first dance class, she stood on her mark with a straight face and didn’t move. At her second class, it was clear she was a natural performer. It wasn’t until Bianca auditioned and became a member of Easton Dance Academy’s elite competition team, under the director of Melissa Tarzopoulos, that Bianca knew dance would always be a huge part of her life. At 9 years old, she spent 6 days a week training at the studio while doing homework and eating dinners on the studio floor between classes.
During high school, Bianca danced at several local studios in order to get the proper training to pursue dance in college. Bianca attended Dean College’s School of Dance where she received her associate of the arts. In college, she was a member of the hip hop team and was showcased as a student choreographer in multiple performances.
Upon graduation, Bianca was offered a job as a dance instructor at The Dance Factory in Plymouth, MA and as the dance director at On Stage School of Performing Arts (formerly On Stage Theatre) in Whitman, MA. Bianca discovered a deep love for choreographing and bonding with her students while taking on the position of built-in role model and mentor. She has choreographed for recreational dancers as well as competitive teams and full scale musicals.
As well as her achievements as a dancer and choreographer, Bianca is also an accomplished singer. Having grown up singing in church, she later took her talents to the stage in musicals such as: Hairspray, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Wedding Singer and more. She spent many weekends traveling back and forth from Boston to New York City auditioning for Broadway roles and National Tours.
On a whim, during a snow storm, Bianca sent in an audition tape to Disney Cruise Line. Less than 12 hours later, she received an email saying a Disney representative wanted to meet her. Two months later, after several meetings and phone interviews, Bianca moved to Toronto to near Disney's rehearsal facility to take on the role of dancer and character performer. Due to an injury while performing the Spanish web, her contract with Disney Cruise Line ended sooner than expected. However, there was a silver lining to the injury.
Bianca was able to pack up and move to the city where she always imagined herself building a life- Nashville. It was always a dream to open a dance studio- watching that dream come to life is both a privilege and extremely exciting! She hopes to find dancers, of all levels and experience, that share her love of the arts that want to grow and push themselves to become better dancers and stronger people. Bianca is looking forward to building a tight-knit dance family in Nashville that strives to make Music City, a Dance City.
